When is Scribbles Learning Center open?
 Scribbles Learning Center is open Monday through Friday.   Closed for six  holidays and two weeks each year . Those holidays are:

  New Year's Day  Independence Day  
  Martin Luther King  Martin Luther King   
  Good Friday  Thanksgiving Week  
  Memorial Day Christmas Week  

Scribbles Learning Center will close early the day before Holiday's refer to Director for the closing times. Tuition payments are still due when the center is close for the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Should traditional holidays occur during a weekend we would observe the holiday in accordance with the National Monday Holiday Bill?

Local news channels will notify you / phone if the center is closing due to bad weather.

Meals and Food Service Practices 
 Nutritional Meals, Breakfast, Am/Pm Snacks, and Supper are served daily family style with the supervision of caregivers to prevent cross contamination of food.

Foodservices are based upon the USDA serving It Safe Food Services handbook ask the director to reference this material.

Discipline Policy
 Discipline is a process in which we help the child develop self-respect.  There will be no corporal punishment. Time out and re-direction are the two methods used by the staff.

The teachers will keep discipline problems at a minimum by emphasizing the positive behaviors rather that the negative behaviors.

A behavior log will be maintained and if their is a continuous disruptive behavior, the Director will request a conference and a decision will be made at that time regarding your child (ren) enrollment.

Scribbles Bus Transportation / Notification
 Bus transportation is offered before and after area school pick up, to and from home  and children field trips.  Please notify the center if your child is ill or absent from school or the center.  There will be a $10.00 trip charge if the bus attempt to pick your child (ren) up at school or home without notification from you. 

It is the responsibility of your child to be at the designated school / home pick-up location.  Upon the bus arrival there will be a three-minute wait.  If your child is not present at the designated location the bus will depart and you will be notified by phone that your child was not at the designated pick up location and the $10.00 trip charge will be applicable per pick up location.

If Transportation pick-up/drop off is needed see Director for fee schedule.  If the bus return to any designated pick up/ drop off location you will be notified and responsible for a $10 trip charge as well.

The center will not provide Transportation during heavy rain, iced, and slick road conditions.  To prevent accidents and maintain the safety of the child (ren) on board and others abroad.   


 

Water Activities

All Children involved in any water activities should have current parent consent to participate in water activities on file.  The
child (ren) will be supervised by on duty lifeguard and a caregiver with in the ratio guidelines. 

Field Trips

Field Trips are age appropriate, and supervised per ratio as outlined in the Minimum standards section.

A checklist and a center logo shirt identify field trip participants with the telephone number listed.  Parents and visitors are always invited to attend and participate.

Animals At The Center

Animals that are displayed by the center for the children view, Parents will be notified in writing, and with all information including vetinary report and shot record if applicable, pertaining to the animal on display. 

Parent & Family Visitation

Parents, family, and friends are welcome and encouraged to visit the enrolled child (ren) any time during business hours, to see the director an appointment is required. Identification is required / requested for any family or friends that the staff cannot identify and if their name is not listed on the enrollment form.

Parent (s) Participation

The parent, or grandparent, caregiver and child relationship is important.  Therefore parents are welcome and encouraged at any time to participate in the center overall operation, activities and events for the best interest of the child.
